A Near Perfect Play Day

One of our favorite things to do at Grandma and Grandpa's house was relax and play.
September 23rd we did just that.
This may not seem eventful enough for a blog post.
Particularly when I am WELL over 3 months behind.
That being said- this day was just about perfect.
See....Daddy has been working a TON lately (more on that soon) and he doesn't get much time to just play.
Play with the girls, relax, nap, hang out.
On September 23 he did all those things.

Daddy and the girls snuggled after breakfast.

It was perfect

Then the girls painted with water colors on the back deck.

And waved at Grandpa as he mowed the lawn below.

Then played outside-Kennedy was too lazy to hold her 'tuppie' by herself.

Madison blew bubbles

Lots of bubbles

While Daddy and Grandpa enjoyed a couple cigars (nope, I didn't take any pictures)
Later we went out for ice cream.
It was Kennedy's first cone-real peach ice cream...Mmmm...

It was perfect!

Madison's cone, on the other hand, was not.
There were a few fruit bees flying around our sweet, dripping decadence.
Madison's ice cream dripped on her thigh and one of the bees decided to take a taste.
Instead, it bit her- no stinger- just a bite.
The ear piercing scream was horrible.
Unlike any we've heard from her before.
She was just miserable and we were 20 minutes from Grandma and Grandpa's.
Mommy sat in the back seat to snuggle Madison in her car seat on the sniffly ride home.
Luckily, Grandma had anti itch cream on hand.
We got Madison settled with anti-itch, an ice pack, and a movie in Grandma and Grandpa's room and Kennedy settled in for her nap.
She cried and cried in an attempt to fight off her nap.
When Mommy went to check on her this is what we found.

She fell asleep with a play phone up to her ear.
Apparently she was trying to call someone to come get her since none of the adults in the house were falling for her tears.
Nearly a perfect, relaxing play day.
