Ready, Set, SLIDE

Why was today a special day?
Today is the day the girls discovered the 'shelf' in the garage is really a play structure!
Last night a couple friends came over and helped us move the big part of the structure outside by the barn, then Daddy and the guys attached the slide and ladder/climbing wall.

Today after naps the girls got their first go at it.
Kennedy climbed right to the top and sat. She wouldn't go down the slide by herself so Madison snuck up behind her.

They were happy to hang out at the top of the slide for a few minutes, then Madison was anxious to get down.

Turns out, our new slide is crazy fast. The girls just fly down it and haven't quite caught on to the 'put your feet down at the bottom of the slide' idea.

If Madison climbs up, Kennedy is quick to follow

The slide is so fast

they fly off the end and land bottom first on the ground.

After Kennedy's first try, her bottom hit the ground and her head went back and smacked the base of the slide. After that she seemed skeptical about this seemingly cool backyard toy.

She just sat at the top with her fruit leather until

Big Sister showed up for reinforcements

As long as Madison was behind her and Mommy was on the side helping them down, Kennedy was in love with the slide. All smiles.

We'll have to work the courage back up.
