Just as we do every Saturday in the fall, we woke up and dressed in our Georgia Bulldog red and black game day clothes.
Daddy had to work, so the girls were on their own for the day.
When we were visiting with our friends back in Simi Valley on Thursday, they returned a Buzz Lightyear cup we had forgotten about....but somehow, the one cup, turned to two! Since they were convinced both belonged to us, we took them home and had one for each of the girls.
Saturday Kennedy was obsessed with her 'Bailar' aka- Buzz Lightyear cup...along with her other accessories
Mommy made a hazelnut decaf iced coffee drink and put whipped cream on top, special for game day. Kennedy wanted some 'ice cream', too so Mommy broke the rules and squeezed some onto a spoon for Kennedy.
She loved her special treat! Madison was playing in her room and missed it, so it was a special, secret treat just for Mommy and Kennedy.
As the day progressed, the game was over (Georgia lost- boo hoo), naps were finished, and Daddy was on his way home- we made last minute plans to have dinner with some of Daddy's friends from work. The girls got changed for dinner and Kennedy decided she HAD to take her witch hat- part of a costume Gramm found on after Halloween clearance last year.
On the way to dinner with Thad, Gargi, and their 11 month old daughter, Maya Mommy looked in the rear view mirror and noticed the girls were just hanging out together talking and holding hands.
Daddy grabbed the camera to take a few pictures.
As we drove, Madison told Kennedy we were going to a fancy restaurant to meet our friends. Everything with Madison is fancy.
Kennedy did manage to convince us to let her take her witch hat with us- at which point we decided on her costume for Halloween this year. Yep, she's going to be a witch. A cute, sweet witch, though...or so we hope.
We arrived at the Korean BBQ restaurant slightly before our friends. Daddy had been to this place with co-workers before we moved out so he knew all about it. Mommy only had Korean BBQ once 6 years ago and went with a Korean friend who did all the ordering! Luckily, Daddy and our friends Thad and Gargi are pros at this and the large restaurant was empty but for us and one other table.
Maya did great in her high chair, and ate mostly baby food. Though she did sneak in a few wormy sweet potato noodles.
We knew- worst case scenario, our girls would eat their weight in white rice...which they love...but were pleasantly surprised to find they were quite adventuresome. They ate tons of clear, worm looking sweet potato noodles with veggies and some of the meat.
Kennedy went to town on her rice and noodles.
She grabbed the large serving spoon when she apparently decided the small, plastic spoon wasn't doing the job for her.
Keeping the kids contained during our fairly long meal was a challenge.
Luckily, the restaurant was virtually empty
the servers were quite entertained, and Thad and Gargi are just as laid back as we are.
Gargi did comment on how great the three girls got along and how we needed a third child since clearly our girls were ready...
Matthew and Thad just laughed and off the girls went to try and help Maya learn to walk.
Madison and Kennedy were surprisingly patient and gentle with their new little friend.
Now if only we can convince Daddy....
