Highs in the low-mid 80's everyday.
We decided this would be the perfect time to dust off our annual pass to the LA Zoo and go for a visit.
Funny thing is, our friend Megan and one of her sisters, Michelle had the same idea.
Today we met at Michelle's house and caravaned to the zoo.
Madison and Spencer were so cute holding hands and walking along.
They have grown so much since their first meeting when Spencer was only a couple days old and Madison was a couple weeks old.
Our first stop was the petting zoo
Where we discovered a big boa.
Megan, Spencer, and Madison were brave enough to visit with our slithering friend
Madison was still a little unsure of him
Spencer's baby sister, Gwen found a plant to keep her occupied
Kennedy was entertained by Miss Gwen
Unfortunately, it is now closed for petting as the zoo changes up the area.
The girls still enjoyed watching the zoo docent feed the goat.
Spencer's cousins, Hayley and Nicholas liked the goats, too.
Kennedy tried to pet the long haired goat, but couldn't figure out how to get her hand thru the fence like her sister did.
Spencer and Madison flapped their arms with the California Condor sign
When we got to the playground area, Kennedy joined baby Gwen in her stroller for a little peach snack. The girls are 6 months apart- Mommy thinks they will be best of friends in a year or so.
When we found the giraffes Madison and Spencer had the same idea on how to 'get a little closer'
The fence was too hot so they decided to play with it instead.
Exhaustion finally got the better of her and she fell asleep in the sling with Mommy.
Her little head was bobbing all around as we pushed on to see more animals, so we transferred her to the stroller for a more restful nap with Bananas.
Madison looked like she was on safari in the bamboo with the camera around her neck.
Look at that little hip- she is so sassy.
He tried his hardest to get it.
Meanwhile, Madison started her funny faces.
Such an animated kiddo.
All day the kids were fascinated with the viewing telescopes.
After a little over 4 hours of visiting animals, playing on the playground, and gobbling up snacks and lunch, the kids were wiped out.
Kennedy woke up when we got back to the car.
Madison, however....
fell asleep, sunglasses on, snack in-wide open mouth.
