Annaliese's 7th Birthday

Saturday, June 27th was Annaliese's 7th birthday party.
She wanted a luau pool party at her Uncle Chad and Aunt Kelly's house.

This is the first summer Madison has shown and interest in swimming on her own.
Every other time we've been in a pool she is happy and wants to splash, but wants to stay in the baby floater or cling to Mommy and Daddy.
Early this summer Madison started jumping in the pool, asking to go under the water and trying to swim on her own.
Daddy was a water baby when he was younger.
Grandma had to pry him out of their pool to go to school in the mornings.
Madison was happy to jump right in the pool with Annaliese and her other friends when we got to the party.
She watched the older kids swimming around on their own and wanted to do the same.

Her favorite thing, by far, was jumping into the pool.

As the day progressed she wanted to jump in and go under water before Mommy caught her.
Such a brave girl.
The pool was pretty warm after Chad and Kelly had the heater on a little longer than planned.
In an effort to cool it down, the cool water pump was on.
The bigger kids were using the pool noodles to squirt water across the pool (with some help from Uncle Chad).
Madison thought it was great.

We laughed and laughed.

Daddy was happy to hold Kennedy while Madison had some time in the pool.

Kennedy loves her Daddy time

Once Madison learned how to use the hole in the noodles all bets were off.
She tried to blow water at Annaliese, look at the anticipation on Ana's face.

Madison looks so tiny next to the older kids playing in the octopus sprinkler.

She loved trying to splash water at Daddy.

I can hear you.

Can you hear me?

After lots of time in the water it was time to eat peanut butter and jelly and watermelon.

Kennedy enjoyed some crackers and veggies with Mommy.
Madison did get a bit jealous of Kennedy's time in the baby floater, so she ended up spending a little time in it, too.
Guess she's not quite ready to grow up completely.

Daddy has to protect his head, too.

Silly, Daddy.

After lots of pool time, we watched Ana open her presents and headed home with two very tired little girls.

It was a great day!
