Charlotte Diamond

Friday, June 26th we went to a kids concert.
Here is a little background:
A few months back we started going to a free kids club Wednesday mornings at our local mall. (which is a beautiful outdoor space only 3 miles from our house- yeah!)
The club was sponsored in part by First Five.
Lots of moms asked me if we participated in other First Five activities and I had no idea what they were talking about.
Turns out First Five is a state funded program for preschoolers development.
They have all kinds of free classes, sports, and activities each month!
We started attending some of the classes around town when we got back from our long Florida trip in April.
At one of the preschool classes we learned the Slippery Fish and I am a Pizza songs.
The artist, Charlotte Diamond, agreed to do a special concert for our local First Five organizations!
The girls met our friends Megan, Spencer, and baby Gwen at the concert and Daddy joined us when he got off work.
Megan bought Spencer and Madison swirly ribbon sticks to play with at the concert.

After a small snack (it was supposed to be dinner, but the kids couldn't sit still to picnic) the Madison and Spencer watched as they set up the stage

and made waves with the plastic beneath the stage

Daddy hung out at 'base camp' with Kennedy and baby Gwen (she was sleeping in her stroller)

Madison danced with her ribbon

she was quite entertained by it

and we were quite entertained by her.

Before long everyone started to gather for Charlotte Diamond to begin her show.

Kennedy kept Daddy busy by climbing on Megan's chair

and teething on an empty water bottle.

Spencer sang along with the songs.

He was so sleepy after skipping his nap for the day.
Madison sang and played along, too.

OOo...so tired.

Megan enjoyed the concert, too.

Madison had a great time singing along to the pizza song.

Charlotte Diamond had lots of silly hats and props to help with her fun songs.

After lots of songs and a little tickling, we packed up to take the sleepy kids home.

As we made our way to the cars we heard Slippery Fish and sang it all the way home (just like we do most days, since it's Madison's current favorite!)
Slippery Fish
