Melbourne Beach trip- Part One

There are so many great photos from this trip I'll have to make multiple posts.
Here's the beginning.
Friday, April 17th the girls and I picked Gramm up from school and headed east to Melbourne Beach. Gramm and Pop planned a getaway weekend as a special treat for the girls.
When we arrived at the beach we got settled in our room and immediately headed down to the beach.

This was both girls' first time on an east coast beach.
(Not sure why this photo keeps turning sideways)
Kennedy's first time on any beach.

The water was pretty chilly for the Atlantic.

(I love this one- Kennedy looks like "what's the big deal" while Mommy looks silly and Madison is jumping out of her skin excited!)
Madison thought it was great.
First she was happy to let the water tickle her toes.
Before long, in typical Madison fashion, she changed her mind and wanted to be held.

Look at the grip she has on Gramm.
Kennedy liked the wet sand between her toes and fingers.
So serious as always.
Here's one of my favorites of our first time beach goer.
The water was mesmerizing.
It didn't take Madison long to find shells.
We walked down the beach for a little while...
This is my favorite of Madison. So typical of her.
The path of a 2 year old as she skips and is distracted by the ocean, shells, and birds.
Our little plumber reaching for shells.
After our short play time on the beach we went back to the room to change our wet clothes and go to dinner.
The girls were wonderful at dinner despite the terrible service.
We were at TGIFridays almost 2 hours! Madison gobbled up her mac n cheese after such a long wait for food.
Gramm stopped on the way back to the hotel to get Madison a treat since she was such a good girl.
When we got back, we read a new ocean book, watched some cartoons
and of course Madison ate her M&M treat right before bed
(Gramm says rules don't apply when she is in charge!)
Kennedy wasn't happy with Gramm's cartoon choice
So she commandeered the remote
Before long everyone drifted off for sweet dreams.
