March of Dimes

On May 16th, all the girls woke up bright and early to participate in the March of Dimes walk in Simi Valley.
The March of Dimes has always been close to Mommy's heart.
Who doesn't love babies?!
In college, Mommy worked for a bank called Suntrust.
They were a HUGE part of March of Dimes fundraising in Athens, GA.
Mommy was one of the coordinators of the team.
It's been several years so it was time to find a walk nearby and get involved again.
God has a funny way of laying something on our hearts.
See, we were planning on parking down the street at our friends, Dana and Brian's house because we figured the parking lot would be jam packed.
We decided to swing by the parking lot to check for free spaces first.
As it turns out, we got the last spot in the parking lot.
Right next to a super nice family.

We ended up asking them if we could walk with them so we didn't have to be by ourselves.
Hava and Tadd were walking with their preemie twins, Derby and Loen.
They were born at 24 weeks and are now 18 month old little cuties.
This cute little family was walking along with Tadd's Dad and their friends Joanna and John in honor of the twins-the tadpoles.

It was great to have help pushing the stroller when Kennedy decided she needed to hang in the sling.
Turns out they are hoping to grow their little team in the coming years- Team Tadpole.
How cool we met them and can help their team next year.

When the walk was over we visited what was left of the booths
We walked the 5 mile route instead of the 3 mile family route and ended up coming in last. Good thing it wasn't a race!

Visited with Miss Loen and Mr Derby a little bit.

Madison even got to high 5 the 'Famous Dave's' pig.

The kids were pretty exhausted and both fell asleep on our way home.

Lookout next year's walk- we are coming and walking with the Tadpoles.
