This year for Mother's Day the girls (with a little help from Daddy) got Mommy a brand new lens for her camera.
It's one she's been coveting for a long time.
All the pictures we post from here on out are with Mommy's new Sigma 18-200mm with optical stabilizer. Ah....I'm in love.
Oh, and in case you were wondering...
Mommy shoots with a digital Canon Rebel.
Back in high school Mommy was on the newspaper staff and learned to take pictures for sporting events, school activities, and basically anything the newspaper needed with a 35mm Canon Rebel.
Naturally, when she was ready to buy her own camera in college she bought what she knew how to use- a 35mm Canon Rebel.
It served her well thru photographing many weddings, portraits, and, well- lots of life's fun!
When digital cameras became affordable and higher in quality, Mommy stopped using her camera. This was around the same time Daddy came into the picture. (no pun intended)
Daddy was sad that Mommy never used her camera anymore.
He felt one of her loves and small talents was going to waste.
Just after Mommy and Daddy were married- December 2005, Daddy (after LOTS of research) bought Mommy the digital base for her existing Canon.
A week or so later, we found out we were expecting little Miss Madison.
That digital base turned out to be one of our very best investments.
We've literally taken thousands of photos since 'going digital'.
We took nearly 1,000 photos (which were edited down) on our Florida trip alone.
Thank God for digital.
And thank Daddy for investing in Mommy. (wink)
