Just another walk...to the park

May 31st was a beautiful day.
The weather was perfect and we were all together as a family.
Madison decided she wanted wear her new 'tinkerbell' dress up when we got home from church
(gotta love the $6 clearance finds on no-name dress up)
and ride her trike out in front of the house.
Did I mention we live at the cul-de-sac?

Spending time with Daddy on the weekends brings the biggest smiles to her face.

Mommy and Kennedy hung out in the yard watching the crazy fairy rider.
Kennedy was content pulling pieces of grass and playing with her ball.

Something about her right leg touching the grass bothered her though
so she held it up the entire time she sat.

she does this any time she is sitting on grass.
After a little riding we decided to walk to the park.

Our little floppy hats were quite content to ride

When we got there Kennedy sat, watching her sister

leg up, of course.

Madison and Daddy ran around the park
which Madison thought was fantastic

Kennedy got a kick out of them, too.

(look at that crazy leg!)

Flying on Daddy's shoulders was apparently hard work

so Madison kicked back and relaxed on the ride home.
Another perfect Sunday afternoon.

What does Kennedy do...

when she wakes up before her sister in the morning?

Play with her sister's toys, of course.

She loves the doodle pro and doesn't get to play with it when Madison is awake

Lately she's been waking up 45 minutes before her sister
and she just eats it up. tee hee

Wuk Mommy....

It's an a-du-gator.

A long time ago Madison discovered Daddy's flashlights.
She turns them on and flashes them around the house.
Daddy started making shadow animals with her when she was only a year and a half old.
During a particularly messy chocolate muffin breakfast...
(this is not the norm- it was a special treat and she had to eat it in the baby seat)
...Madison made an alligator with her hands.

Not too shabby- but what made her think of this out of the blue?
Her little brain is always going a mile a minute.

Exploring

Dress up apparently wore Madison out.
She took a long nap on Mommy and Daddy's bed, so Kennedy and Mommy tried to stay quiet.
We played in the girls' room

Mommy was re-organizing out grown clothes

Kennedy was exploring the new 'hole' in her changing table

shortly after this little exploration we broke down the glorified storage shelf

This little monkey won't lay still long enough to be changed on it anymore

and they obviously need more space in their room to explore and play.
Less than 10 months old and we already have no use for the changing table.
This little one is living up to her nickname- Monkey.
** On a side note: I searched thousands of photos looking for a picture of Madison doing this very same thing. Can't seem to locate it. Funny how similarly their minds work sometimes. **

Dress up with Friends

May 27th we went to play with Ryan and Spencer at their house.
The girls wanted to play dress up.
Ryan was Tinkerbell

Madison asked Mindy if she could be Belle (shoes and all)

Kennedy wore a tutu Mindy made

she was so cute crawling and cruising their house in it

she also found a light saber to play with- and had no trouble figuring it out

Dress up is always more fun with friends

A style all her own

May 26th started out chilly.

Madison insisted on picking out her own outfit
Her current favorite dress is thin spaghetti strap
she added her green sweater when I insisted she needed something warmer
she grabbed her sister's leg warmers aka 'stripes'
purple flower headband from Aunt Dar
finish it off with pink flip flops, shamu, and a bulldog from their mobile-
She's ready to go

Fancy Nancy lookout- you have major competition!

Memorial Day

We didn't do anything special for Memorial day this year
The kids played and played
Madison pretended to sleep with her butterfly wings

on her CeCe kitty from Build-a-Bear (did you know the company was started by a University of Georgia grad? thanks for the tip, Aunt Kristi!)

Later Madison (yes, she's wearing her winter jacket) had a little fit and went to hide between the chair and ottoman. She fell asleep there on the floor 'hiding'

The girls got to wear their cute matching dresses from Aunt Kimberly again.
Daddy took Madison with him to Home Depot late afternoon and she got a flag.
She drew lots of attention throughout the store skipping with her piggie tails and waving her American flag- lots of smiles.

Proud to wave her flag

Kennedy's Jungle Gym

Sierra has really learned to tolerate these babies of ours.
Madison used to climb on her
Now Kennedy stepped up to the plate.
These pics were taken May 22nd
Sierra doesn't mind the 'love'

probably because she and Kennedy have an agreement

Kennedy can climb all she wants as long as she keeps throwing pieces from her dinner over the side of her baby seat for Sierra

It's a beautiful partnership.

Wasting Away Again....

Mommy and Daddy LOVE Jimmy Buffett.
The last time we got to see him live in concert was April of 2006.
Needless to say, life was a little different back then.

(thank GOODNESS Mommy wore better maternity clothes the second time around)
This year, Jimmy Buffett was in concert locally on Thursday, May 21st.
We decided it would be too tough to leave both kids with a sitter and drive all the way to Anaheim to see the concert this year.
Luckily for us, RadioMargaritaville broadcasts ALL Jimmy Buffett concerts LIVE.
Mommy got the idea around 3 O'clock on Thursday afternoon to have a little 'listen' party.
The girls loaded up in the car and headed to BevMo
which happens to be right next to Party City
and loaded up on margarita mix, tequila, rum (hello- boat drinks), party leis and grass skirts
then called the Steads.
They were happy to appease us for some Cheeseburgers in Paradise.
Madison and Noah spent a little time rocking while they waited for their dinner

They are so stinking cute together

as always

After dinner, while we were waiting for the music to start, the kids took a bath
Kennedy got her bath first because we knew these two monkeys would be....
well, monkeys.

Noah had surgery on his ears almost a year ago (I think, I know it's been a while though) to put tubes in so he has to wear ear plugs when he's in the water.
He didn't have them with him, so we used make shift cotton balls dipped in Vaseline

Madison and Noah didn't seem to mind waiting for the concert to start

Matter of fact, they were oblivious

Once everyone was pj'd
(Madison and Noah are pros at the pj swap these days)
they played some more

then watched Toy Story on Daddy's computer

when Kennedy decided to stick her tongue out to play with her new bottom teeth

she left it out

until long after the Stead's left

while Daddy played jungle gym

guess if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
Daddy and the girls went to bed and Mommy stayed up enjoying the fabulous music, donned in leis from the girls.
It was the next best thing to the concert- and all you can drink boat drinks. :)
