Madison's new pets

Thursday we took Sierra for a bath and nail clipping at Petsmart.
We like to spoil her (and make sure to get all the dirt off!) every once in a while and get her a nice professional wash.
Madison struggles every time.
She is fine with the idea of taking Sierra, but when we leave she cries, 'No go back- get See Ra!'.
I guess she thinks we are leaving her for good.
She doesn't quite get that we are going back.
This time we ended up with a few extras on the way home.
After cruising the store looking at all the animals....fish, birds, lizards, snakes (ewww!!!), cats, we decided to get Madison a fish.
Madison was so excited she flapped her arms up and down with glee! What a wierdo!
Kennedy slept thru the whole ordeal.
Goldfish are $.12 each. We ended up with 3.

We had a bowl at home, but needed fish food ($1.99), tap water treatment drops ($2.29), and colored marbles for the bottom of the bowl ($1.99).
It's like a Visa commercial...little swimmers...36 cents, all the garb to go with them...just under 7 dollars.
Watching your two year old daughter hug the fishies,

decorate their bowl with stickers,

and climb up her stool to talk to them...priceless.

PS Kennedy is just fine with her 'fishies', the aquarium toy Uncle Daniel got Madison her first Christmas made its way back out for Kennedy!

Kennedy's Snack

Kennedy had her first Gerber wagon wheel snack on Wednesday.

She liked it!

Followed by her first bath in the kitchen sink-which she was not, too fond of.

She did enjoy trying to figure out what kind of toy the faucet was.

Therapy

Today Mommy got some much needed therapy.
Not psych therapy.
Not Retail therapy- (although THAT would be fun, too!)
no my friends...
carpet cleaning therapy.
Call me crazy, but I LOVE cleaning my carpets.
OK, I don't love it, but it is somehow therapeutic for me.
No joke, ask my mom, I cleaned the carpets like 4 times the week before Kennedy arrived. She was ready to ship me AND my carpet cleaner to another planet!
Wonderful, fantastic, Saint, Mindy picked up Madison to go to the library today with Ryan and Caleb (yesterday we met Mindy, Ryan, and Spencer there for puppets and books, today was the toddler time). Afterward they went to the park for a picnic. Mommy and Kennedy had 2 full hours of alone time. Just me, my little one on the couch playing with toys, and my steam cleaner...what could be better.
Oh, and apparently Kennedy IS my child. She TOO finds steam cleaning therapeutic.
Isn't that what it means when she falls asleep in the sling on my hip while I'm cleaning?!
Loving the beautifully clean, puffy carpets- the first person to spill is in BIG trouble, Mister!

Kennedy...on the move?

Lately, Kennedy is spending more time on her belly.

She learned when she rolls over, it's ok to hang out for a little while. She doesn't have to scream immediately to be rolled to her back again.

Now she experiments a little.
She's been pushing her upper body up as high as she can

and putting her face down low on the blanket while lifting her knees up under her

causing her cute fanny to stick up in the air.

She's not just flapping her arms and legs anymore.
Kennedy seems to be concentrating toward going somewhere.

Uh, oh!
What is she looking at?
Silly Madison dancing.
***********
Friday night Daddy was playing with Kennedy when she rolled from her back to her tummy (nothing new) and back again. He was hesitant to tell Mommy because he figured this was old news he'd been missing out on. Luckily he told Mommy anyway because that was the FIRST TIME Kennedy rolled from her tummy to her back again! She's been working on it for weeks now. Mommy saw her do it Sunday for the first time. I was on the phone with Aunt Dar, so she got to be a part of the excitement, too!

A hat and a scarf

Madison loves to dress up.
Anything from a blanket to one of her costumes will do her just fine.
Last Friday she asked Mommy for a hat and a scarf (kind of random)...out of Mommy's closet.

This is what we came up with.

She is such a goof.

When it came time for bed she wore her favorite 'number one alligator shirt' and tromped around in Daddy's boots.

Last Thursday

Wow, has it really been that long?
Uncle Chris came over for dinner and I was so busy updating our remote shutter post I skipped the events of that day.
Madison was quite excited to see Uncle Chris's motorcycle while we waited for Daddy to get home in his 'big yellow car'.

She honked the horn

Turned the key

Even asked if Kennedy could sit with her

Which was a little stressful for the adults involved

Madison, Uncle Chris, and Daddy played outside

while Mommy and Kennedy went in to make cookies for dessert.

Remote Shutter

Yesterday, when the girls woke up from naps we decided to play with the remote shutter.

We started out inside...

Then moved to the front yard.
Kennedy took some time to love on Mommy.
Madison stole the shutter button and thought she had to sit right in front of the camera to make it work. Nevermind the fact I was trying to love on Kennedy. Silly girls.
What a sweet girl
Not ANOTHER picture, Mommy!
Then Madison found a dandilion in the yard.

Which she promptly picked, and broke.
"Oh NO, Mommy!"

Both the girls were so concerned

While Madison ran around, Kennedy sat in my lap chewing on her glasses.

Love these piggies

Sierra was just hanging out while we played.

We need to teach Madison how to sit like a lady now that she is wearing big girl panties.
So, what do you think of Mommy's new hair?
