First Visit to Pumpkin Patch

October is our favorite time of year to visit our local farm.
We usually go several times.
We just love visiting the pumpkin patch
October 8th the girls were ready to go.

Love that they held hands to get to the car.
We didn't get there as early as we wanted and all the cool wagons were taken so Mommy decided a wheel barrow was the next best thing.

After pausing to see the chickens in their coups we moved on to the pumpkins.

Kennedy was only 2 months old the last time she was here so this experience was all new to her.

Ta-da- pumpkins as far as the eye can see.

Kennedy didn't understand she couldn't lift all the heavy gourds.
She made every effort to make it happen.

Madison liked the scarecrow's dress

but mostly she liked tickling Kennedy with it.

When Madison moved on, Kennedy stopped to see what all the fuss was about.

Always such serious faces.

Madison thought this might be the perfect one to take home.
We decided to hold off for now and instead eat our picnic lunch there among the pumpkins.
It was a slow time in the field because all the school groups were eating in the actual picnic area so we were not disturbing anyone.
After lunch we moved over to the small pick-you-own pumpkins

Though keeping Kennedy there took some convincing.

She liked the big ones

Until she realized she could actual LIFT the smaller ones

then she wanted to carry two at a time

which worked for a minute

but those little pumpkins are slippery

so she sat down to take a break instead

and decided one would do just fine

she liked the tiny white ones, too
After picking a few small pumpkins we moved over to the measuring pumpkin

It's fun to compare to last year and see how much the girls have grown

Another nice Mommy ended our day by taking a photo of Daddy's 3 favorite girls together.

After all that running, lifting, and playing we were all ready for naps!
