LoVE Fest

Sunday, June 7th after church, naps, and a little play time we went to Thousand Oaks to a great concert- LoVE Fest 09.
Lily of the Valley Endeavor (LoVE) is a non-profit organization started by Southern Californians to help AIDS infected children in South Africa.
Each year they put on a concert where local churches send members of their praise bands to play, local business donate food and drink, and there is a huge silent auction.
We took a blanket, snacks, and sweaters- and drove over toward the end of the day.
When we got there the temperature started dropping so Madison wore Mommy's sweater.

She thought it was fun to swing the arms around

and up and down

After we were planted on the lawn, we went to get some snacks donated by local vendors.

Madison liked the little mini cakes best

so much she even sang about them.

she was a mess

Mommy, Daddy, and the girls played

and watched

and laughed

upside down

and danced to the music

snuggled

chatted

loved

attacked

sipped

tickled
giggled

tackled

shared

squealed

squashed

kissed

climbed on

poked

flipped

adored

and just had a beautiful time together.

Amazing cause
Gorgeous weather
Yummy food
Great music
It was the perfect evening!

First Week of June

June 2nd was Grandpa Shemenski's birthday.
The girls had chocolate muffins for breakfast in honor of his special day.
Kennedy was a disaster after hers so she got a little splash time in the kitchen sink.
I think kitchen sinks were made for bathing babies.

Look how cute she is in it

and how much fun she had.

We sent Grandpa pictures of his favorite 'naked girl' for his birthday.
He laughed and laughed.
*
June 3rd the girls made brownies

the best part was licking the skinny scraper.

it was so yummy

so was the batter bowl

all that licking makes for one messy face.
*
June 5th the girls found the flower leis from our Jimmy Buffett night.
Kennedy pulled one apart.
Madison 'decorated' Sierra with the flowers.

*
June 6th was a busy Saturday of playing and running errands.
Madison and her crazy outfit fell asleep in the car.

June 7th, we woke up and went to church as always.
After church the whole family laid down for early naps.
When the girls woke up (note Madison's crazy hair) we played for a little while.
Kennedy figured out how to climb on the Mr Potato Head box

She really is our little monkey

Kennedy is just enamoured with Daddy.
This series of pictures taken June 1st when everyone woke up from naps.

poking Daddy's eyes

What's that, Daddy?
